Personality:

Yosuke is considered the comic relief among the group, whether it be through physical humor such as the times he crashes into garbage cans when he loses control of his bike or when he simply says something that is out of place at the time. His laidback and awkward attitude adds to this impression of the boy. Despite that, he's approachable (though he doesn't always seem that way at first glance) and friendly and will stick to his friends through thick or thin once he trusts them well enough.

He has a tendency of saying things without exactly thinking it through which usually get him into trouble and sometimes makes him sound like a jerk. Most of the time this backfires on him. A good example was when he suggested the group date café for the cultural festival and ended up posing as either a girl or being paired up with Souji (who took the part of the girl) depending on the player's choice. Both of which however, ends up with Yosuke in a very uncomfortable position (figuratively, of course). Though this frankness may seem like a bad trait to have, there are times when it is able to help him and the Investigation Team out during their review of the case.

Despite being friends with Kanji, Yosuke is homophobic and he doesn't try to hide it. This ties in pretty well with how he can manage to sound like a jerk without even trying or meaning to. He openly teases Kanji about being gender confused to the point that it sounds insulting. In fact, when he, Souji and Kanji had to sleep in the same tent during the camping trip, he worried whether the two of them would be "safe" sleeping so close to the underclassman and actually asked him before going to sleep. It doesn't exactly help Yosuke's case that Kanji reacted violently to the question only making Yosuke push even further for a straight answer from the younger boy. However, because of this fear he may become jittery when in the presence of someone who isn't straight, especially if you were a guy... and if you were hitting on him. Or if you seem to be hitting on him.

He is actually a lot smarter that he may seem to be. This also goes to show that he has decent deductive skills considering that he was the one who first noticed the pattern in the murders and kidnappings, saying that it was mostly women who was being targeted and later on people who were shown on TV prior to their kidnapping. Although this shows during the meetings at the special headquarters in Junes and the TV world, this doesn't ring true when it comes to school. When it's something school-related, he becomes lazy and unmotivated but he somehow manages to get by fine.

He seems to be the type who holds grudges and remind people that they owe him, but more often than not it's because he would only do so because recalling the situation could work to his advantage. Because of this it would seem that he liked to guilt-trip people like when whatever predicament they're in could turn out better for him. He even went as far as reminding the girls that he and Souji allowed them to stay in their tent the night prior despite the chance of expulsion for all of them had they gotten caught. Because of that, he was able to get them into the swimsuits he had brought along with him just for that occasion.

One problem Yosuke may have is that he has a tendency to get a little too emotional at times. With his judgment clouded by his emotions, it makes it harder for him to consider the facts and other possible options. This was especially present when the team confronts Namatame after Nanako's "death". He had blamed the man for both Nanako and Saki's demise and didn't care if they killed him then and there and would've probably pushed through with it if Souji hadn't intervened.

Yosuke comes of as a bit of a flirt when it comes to interacting with girls. He would always try to get on their good side but would usually be turned down in one way or another. He may not exactly have the skill to successfully charm a girl but that doesn't mean he's not going to try again at some other point in time.

As the son of the manager of Junes, a lot of the employees tend to go to him when they have suggestions or complaints. He doesn't exactly like it when they do that but he figures that those employees may quit if they had given them the cold shoulder. This would hint that he does care about the growing shopping chain and for his dad's overall business. However, bottling up his irritation on the other employees eventually causes him to snap at two girls who had always complained about their shifts and schedules. Besides that one incident, he has pretty decent managerial skills when it comes to handling most of the other employees.

Even if he's already a teenager, Yosuke is a picky eater. He doesn't like tofu but he decided to order some from Rise's shop just because it was from Rise. He also ate some of the girls' Mystery Food X, despite his better judgment. But after the first time, he was hesitant (and smart enough) to repeat the experience.

Yosuke is pretty much like any other teenage boy who wants to hang out with his friends, make jokes and just have a good time. This also means that he's a little perverted, especially when he bought the girls swimsuits just so they could take a dip in the river before they headed back into Inaba from their field trip.

In Yosuke's social link, Souji learns more about Yosuke's true feelings with regards to his outlook on Inaba, being the son of Junes' manager and how he really felt about Saki. He trusts Souji so much, especially because Souji had seen the worst of him during the time he confronted his shadow. Towards the end of the social link, he tells Souji that he was jealous all along and that he wanted to be acknowledged by their leader. At the same time, he wanted to be the leader, he wanted to be the one everyone depended on. Despite all these desires, he asks Souji to punch him so he could rid himself of these thoughts and so the two of them could be considered equal. This ends up with both of them going all out in a brawl. Yosuke only wants Souji's approval because he considers him as his first real friend.

Special Abilities:

When it comes to fighting, Yosuke could wield kunai, knives and wrenches decently. It is never said how he knows to use them but the knowledge he has in using those weapons is enough to show that he could fend for himself in battle.

Besides the earlier stated weapons, he also has the ability to summon his Persona, Jiraiya (and later on Susano-o). His Persona allows him to cast a variety of support spells that either up the stats of a party member (or the entire party) or lower the stats of opponents for a few turns. He could also cast Garu, or wind, spells and a few healing spells. However, he is weak to Zio (or lightning) spells and could be knocked down by them.

How did your character die?

An unfortunate accident involving his bike, a post and his skull.

[It had been a simple enough request. Go around town feeding a few of the cats Souji had befriended during his one year stay. Why his friend had been feeding strays was beyond him but he didn't question the other boy's motives. All right, he had teased him about it for when he had first found out but he had eventually grown accustomed to it.

He had already visited all but one, a rather small cat that frequented the nearby streets by the Dojima household. It took him a while to find the feline, roaming through the neighborhood streets until he had finally spotted it.]

You know, it'd really help if you stayed in one area instead of walking wherever you wanted.

[He lets out a groan but he doesn't expect to get more than a meow from the cat as he speaks. Crouching low on the ground, he rifles through the plastic bag in his hand, taking out the remaining can of food he'd brought along with him. He watches for a moment as the cat sniffs the outer rim of the can.]

What are you waiting for? Eat up.

[And then he hears a low growl. He turns slowly, cautiously, only to come face to face with a rather large, black dog. The canine eyed the Yosuke for a moment before turning its attention back at the cat, who decides that it's about time to make a run for it, leaving Yosuke at the mercy of the animal. With his hands raised in an attempt to placate the dog, Yosuke gets back up onto his feet, taking small steps backward and away from the stray.]

Look, I don't want any trouble okay? Just stay where you are and I'll leave, got that? [He lets out a nervous laugh.] Good boy. Good boy.

[In which, he answered with a loud, terrifying bark. Before he knows it, his feet take flight down the street, around a corner and out of the neighborhood, far, fay away from the rabid animal.]

Dammit, Souji! That's the last time I'm feeding that stupid cat of yours!

Third Person:

It was the quiet times in the stock room that gave him the most time to think about things. Instead of taking inventory or piling up boxes over boxes, he'd somehow lose himself in the process, allowing things like school, his friends, work, the future occupy his mind instead of the task at hand. This week's nagging topic had been regarding the latter of those options.

With how things seemed to be going, he had a lot of things to consider in the coming year. Whether or not he'd need to go to cram school before the university tests rolled along, what schools he's be applying to, what classes he needed to work on. The biggest problem being what he wanted to do in the future. He knew that his family had expected him to help out with the business after he graduated from college but he wasn't too sure himself if that was what he really wanted. In the long run, handling the finances, advertising, maintenance of Junes seemed like a big downer and that wasn't something he saw himself doing in his adult life.

He let out a sigh as he opened another box, ticking off the contents on his clipboard.

Things had been so much easier a year ago. To anyone else, that may have been hard to believe, considering that he and the others had had their hands full with the investigation on the murder cases, and the trips to the TV World. But it was the excitement that came along with it that made him look forward to waking up the next day. Now... there really wasn't much driving him to get things done and over with.

Besides school, he hadn't seem much of the others either. Even if he had wanted to hang out with them, the timing of his shifts at Junes weren't during the best of times, always coinciding with whatever plans the rest of the gang has made.

"Geez, what a depressing life I live."

A shout echoed through the room not long after. "Hey Yosuke, you done there yet? The truck with the new washing machines just arrived at the docking bay. Think you can lend a hand with that?"

And with that, the quiet time he has to himself comes to an end. At least for now.

"Yeah, lemme just get this last box and I'll be right over."

Did you read the rules and F.A.Q.? Yep.
